DII Launches ASTRA Intelligence: Matchmaking Platform for the Drone and Mobile Robot Industry

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

1,500+ company listings, 6,500+ products, 68 countries. Results are ranked by profile completeness. A free listing is available for every company, permanently. Early Adopter Plan: all features are free until 30 June 2027 for companies registering by 31 December 2026.

Hamburg, Germany – October 6, 2026 – Drone Industry Insights (DII) today announced the official launch of ASTRA Intelligence, a live, searchable platform covering companies, products, and services across the global mobile robot ecosystem. Following its beta phase, ASTRA now lists more than 1,500 companies and 6,500 products from 68 countries. It enables buyers, suppliers, investors, and policymakers to move from a broad requirement to a shortlist of qualified matches in minutes and to contact the right people directly. Results are ranked by profile completeness: within the selected filters, the more complete a company’s profile, the higher it appears.

What is new at launch

  • Coverage: more than 1,500 company listings and 6,500 products from 68 countries, spanning hardware, software, and services for mobile robots that fly, drive, float, and dive.
  • Improved matching logic: refined filters and relevance ranking that surface companies and products that meet a specific requirement across domains and sectors.
  • Supply chain view: a new view that maps company categories across the mobile robot supply chain, from components to integrated systems and services. It helps users identify suppliers at each stage, including for regional sourcing.
  • Long and short lists: users can save companies and products to their lists and download them for internal evaluation.
  • Side-by-side comparison: products can be compared directly online.
  • Owner-managed profiles: a designated company representative can edit and extend each profile. The profile owner decides which information to publish.

Built on DII’s industry data

ASTRA draws on the research base DII uses for its market analyses and the Drone Market Map. In DII’s Global Drone Industry Survey, client acquisition ranked as the second-biggest challenge for companies in the industry for the third consecutive year. Domestic politics and geopolitics, ranked third and eighth, are pushing companies toward regional supply chains. ASTRA addresses both: it connects supply and demand directly and makes specialized suppliers findable. Unlike directories built on paid listings, ASTRA allows every company to be listed free of charge.

“ASTRA Intelligence is the most comprehensive human-to-human platform in the world of mobile robots. The goal is to foster meaningful human connections, and ASTRA is built for exactly that. It has never been easier to find companies and products and to contact the right people directly,” said Kay Wackwitz, CEO of Drone Industry Insights.

Current profiles, better visibility

ASTRA is designed to reflect the industry as it is today. Companies that keep their profiles complete and current are the ones buyers see first. Incomplete profiles move down the list, making them harder for buyers to find.

Availability and pricing

ASTRA Intelligence is now available at astra.droneii.com. Buyers and explorers can use the platform free of charge. For companies, the base listing, including the company profile and its products and services, remains free permanently. Companies that register by 31 December 2026 receive an Early Adopter Plan with all features free of charge until 30 June 2027. For companies registering later, premium features such as testimonials, press releases, and product videos will be available by subscription starting 1 January 2027.
